A. Varga Imre
Imre A. Varga (Kecskemét, July 4, 1953 - ) is a Hungarian painter, graphic artist, and sculptor. Self-taught, his mentors were Imre Goor, Pál Bánszky, and Ferenc Hézső. He has traveled to Poland for study purposes. He is a member of the Műhely Művészeti Egyesület (Workshop Art Association). 1968: Imre A. Varga's artistic journey began with the influence of the Kecskemét "Edvinists" group (led by László Lugossy, István Zámbó, and László Terebessy). He is drawn to the world of Giorgio de Chirico and the Metaphysicals, the art of Béla Kondor, and the creative methods of Synthetic Cubism, the Berlin Dadaists, and the Szentendre School. His works feature everyday moments, a unique, humorous, and playful treatment of pathos-free banalities. His creative approach is characterized by the use of collages as sketches. His sculptures are the logical consequences of his decoratively colored paintings, and at one point he even cut out figures from some of his paintings using a saw. His most unique genre is the so-called "box painting", independent small worlds, strange microcosms, deeply felt blends of the celestial and the earthly, almost characteristic of indigenous peoples. Mentors: Self-taught, Imre Goor, Pál Bánszky, Ferenc Hézső I hope this translation is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
